Analysis on the Factors of Health Care Utilzation of the Family

Abstract
|
|
|
This study was conducted to analyse the health care utilization on familly unit based on the data collected by Korea Institute for Health & Social Affairs throughout the country in 1989.
In conclusion health care utilization was analysed to be influenced mainly by awareness on the importance of family health and the enconomic situation of the family.
By residential characteristics awareness on the health itself was shown to be very high in urban area, whereas familial economic situation was more influential in rural area.
Therefore health education on the family health care takers(usually housewives) and the expansion of health insurance suould be emphasized, as mild or moderate diseases are usually taken care of by family members before medical care.
